As seems to be my custom now, I am planning to drive up to Waynesboro on Thursday via some backroads through Virginia. Here are some details:
Meet Location: Wilco-Hess station at Exit 150 on Interstate 40/85 in Graham
Wheels Up Time: 11:00 AM
Estimated Driving Time: 5 hours
No firm schedule/plans as far as gas stops, restroom breaks, or lunch. It will be one of those "hmm, think I feel like stopping" deals (or someone gets on the radio and says, "I NEED to stop!").
A Google Map is below showing the route. I'll post up a gpx at some point. The route is a little different compared to the past couple years as we will continue to head NW around Smith Mountain Lake and eventually cross I-81 before looping back into Waynesboro.
Please note: all indicators point to a stretch of gravel road, possibly up to 6 miles in length, as part of the route (or course, there could be other parts that are dirt/gravel as I have not scouted out the route). It looks to be fairly well packed, but there is a lot of it I can't see in the available photos. It occurs AFTER we cross I-81 (between points H and I on the map), so for those who don't do unpaved roads, you can easily turn off at that point and shoot up to Waynesboro.

Please post up if you plan to join me just so I'll know to be on the lookout for you!
