Just a reminder that this event is this upcoming Sunday..
The covered grandstand is normally open to sit in and have an aerial view to watch and be in the shade..
As of now, weather says 89 degrees and 20% chance of afternoon showers..

Years ago I had no problem but the last time.....well. :(
Big thing last time was that I ran in the very first group with zero time to watch and zero rubber on the course to follow. If I go I'm going to try and run in a later group. Really should not be looking at the course as a series of gates but as a course, just as if it were a track...

I walk the course probably 3 times before it all starts. Everybody does to try to get a vision of where to go.. They also have a novice walk thru which everybody is welcome to do ( I always do it. ) as they give you tips as to where you should be lined up and aiming for the next turn etc.. Auto cross is like most any of thing to be good at it you need to do it regularly.. That way when on the course your able to slow things down and see only the cones you need to and not a whole parking lot full of them like I still do.. Practice doesn't make perfect, but it beats doing nothing!!! Come on out and give it a go, be cool if we could get a crowd out there.. plus it would help make the day go by quicker, and it is a plus to have someone watch you run in case you mess up somewhere but didn't realize it they can tell you so you don't just keep running that line and find out later you DNF'd every run..

stadium?
I want to run it but my breaks are squealing indicating I need to change them and have been for. Little while now o I'm going to wait to run but I may come out to see it if I can spare the gas cash this paycheck, cause I need pads and rotors real bad!

Dixie Classic Fairgrounds
Directions: (South Entrance)
Take Business I-40 to the Cherry St. exit. Go north on Cherry for about 2.2 miles. Turn right on W.27th St. (You'll see the Goodwill Industries on the corner.) Go about 4/10ths of a mile, enter the lot at the fair offices on the left. There will be an autocross banner at the gate. We will be using the usual layout with the concession area as paddock.

I don't know if they'll do it this time, but I was talking to a guy who ran the last event when they were in Greensboro, and he said that they had not only cones, but they also painted out the course so you wouldn't get lost...
I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.
That would help for the few areas that have no cones set up!!!!
You going to make it out Hunter??

I'll have some black vinyl numbers and a few "class letters" for some that needs them..
If your car is bone stock you can get in a stock class but if you have done anything to it, the "S" cars will probably be STX and the Non "S" cars are ST ( which doesn't stand for stock, I think it is Street Tire )
Come on out it's a great way to toss your car around some and not have to worry about running off the road or getting a ticket.
Pretty much get going and run the whole course in 2nd gear.. so you not going real fast just feels that way on a tight course..

ST is "Street Touring" and STX is "Street Touring Extreme." If you have a JCW, you will also be in STX.
