This event was posted on the calendar but I didn't realize did not have any additional details on this forum .. this is the 8th annual Fall Colours Run and the 3rd that I have attended and it is a wonderful time. The Highland Inn is reserved exclusively for MINIs .. there are 19 rooms and all but one (as of this AM) have been sold out. Overflow at several area B&B's or the Montvalle Motel which is owned and run by the same people that own the Highland Inn .. all the club members dine together at the Inn .. MAACODALE does a great job organizing, and each year the event attracts more and more MINIs ..
A few details posted below, and more can be found on the HRMINIs website. http://www.hrmini.com/index.php
Someone should grab this last available room (available due to a THMMC club member having to cancel) and get one last long weekend event in before the holidays and cold weather set in ...
(I'm leaving Raleigh early afternoon Friday by way of Richmond - not as direct, or scenic as via Lynchburg - if anyone is attending and wants to caravan, just send PM)
======================
Once againHR MINI and our band of MINI owners will take over the historic Highland Inn in Monterey VA!Don't miss this great opportunity to motor through some of the finest twisties western Virginia and West Virginia has to offer. Friday, enjoy some MINI bench motoring on the covered porches of the Inn. Who knows, there may even be some midnight motoring around Monterey .Saturday's lunch will be at C.J. Maggies again in Elkins, WV (remember those sandwiches)? then a neat little road the motorcyclists rave about followed by a quick stop by Seneca Rocks and then back to the Inn for dinner by Chef Lisa. There may even be some late night motoring Saturday night before rocking the night away on the rocking chairs on the porch.
Sunday will bring even more motoring this time heading south through some of the greatest roads the Old Dominion has to offer as well as a few historic locations. Lunch Sunday will be in Paint Bank at the Swinging Bridge restaurant. And yes, Route 678 will be on the schedule again. If you ran last years event; you'll remember 678. If you didn't, you'll fall in love with this road. To say it's gorgeous in a gross understatement.
