    11/19/11 - Turkey Stroll Rally

    Turkey Stroll Rally

    OK, last year it was a strut (because that is what turkeys do) and the year before it was a trot (because of the alliteration I guess, that is what everyone uses). Just to avoid repetition, this year I have dubbed this run a STROLL. And as you will see, for this year's iteration, I'm heading east to the Triangle area (since I've been to the west/Triad areas this year and the poor Triangle folks need a run )

    Similar to the last couple years, this run will be the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Before everyone loads up on Thanksgiving meals and heads off for family time, take a little bit of time for some motoring in the cool fall air.




    Turkey Stroll Rally

    Saturday, November 19, 2011
    Start Time ~ 9:30 a.m. (tentative)
    Wheel's Up ~ 10:00 a.m. (tentative)
    End Time ~ 12:30 p.m. (tentative)



    The route is below. The gathering spot will be the parking lot of the Food Lion (517 N. Main St., Holly Springs, NC). This is roughly across the street from the Sonic where we have met in the past for Tour de Steam Plumme and Meet, Motor & Beer events. Speaking of which, the route generally follows a modified Tour de Steam Plumme.

    We will end at the Aviator Brewing Company Smokehouse in downtown Fuquay-Varina for lunch for anyone interested in sticking around.

    I have a gpx file of the route prepared and below is a map of the route in Google maps.

    Hmm... A drive that starts in Holly Springs? What a coincidence -- I live in HS and am soooo tempted. Seems crazy to do another drive after getting rear-ended at MINIpalooza. I just got the car back 2 weeks ago from the repair shop looking like new again. It's itchin' to try another drive.
    Should I or shouldn't I? I guess count me as a 'maybe'...I might insist on being the last one in the line up.

    What's up with the "777I77I" on the license plate?
    Answer:
