Cars and Coffee 2012 - 1st Saturday Every Month at Brier Creek

UPDATE: The weather forecast is PERFECT - 70 degrees, sunny, and 0 % chance of precipitation!!

We will meet at Brier Creek - usual spot - to the south of McDonalds - between McDs and Dickies (use this address for your GPS if unfamiliar: 8651 Brier Creek Parkway Raleigh 27617) at 8:30am for staging to claim all together parking spaces.

We will leave Cars&Coffee about 10:45 and make the drive to Burlington for lunch at Zack's Hot Dogs. By my estimate we should be there about 12n - 12:15pm. Return trip to Brier Creek via interstate is ~ 35 minutes

Come by the first Saturday of every month to see an awesome show. There are exotic cars, antique cars, concept cars, one of a kind cars .. an enjoyable display for both those unfamiliar and quite the collection for the car-versed, too .. the Brier Creek gathering has grown to rival Charlotte's; on any given Saturday the cars will number in the hundreds ..

It's an awesome environment and is in a great location right off I-540 with easy access to I-40. Cars generally meet beginning around 8:30 and congregating in an area with like vehicles. Park and then grab a bagel and some coffee at Bruegger's or Caribou and wander around to check out the amazing cars. Everyone is respectful and very enthusiastic so don't be afraid to ask questions!

A group lunch after is a definite option, there are plenty of nearby options, if there is enough interest. Or if anyone is interested in organizing a drive after the event one month (or more!), perhaps even to a lunch spot, MINIs are always up for a fun drive, do it!

Below are the dates for 2012; feel free to RSVP to facilitate parking the MINIs together if you like, but it’s not necessary.
Or better yet, pick a month that you want to organize a group lunch/drive and post the details!

Wooo! I am interested in the Jan 7th one, but if there's no big turnout, I can always do later dates. Definitely want to go on a day where more people show up so I can meet more club members.

I've heard good things about the turnout for this event each month yet I've never made it out to one. I've got my calendar marked for the next 12 months so I plan to make it out for some of them and will keep an eye on this thread to see who else is going from Tarheel MINI. I'm a 'maybe' for this coming Saturday.

This is the address for the McDonald's at Brier Creek .. however, I don't consider it an ideal meeting place as their parking lot is small and "technically" it's a right hand turn only to get out of it and we'll need to be turning left .. so perhaps find an empty area between the McDonald's and Dick's Sporting Goods (which won't be open at that point) and if you need a cup of McD's coffee before Cars&Coffee it'll be close enough to walk .. McD's is right at the corner of Hwy 70 and Brier Creek Parkway (as compared to the opposite end at Lumley Rd and Brier Creek Parkway); it may be easier to spot or GPS to Dick's ..

I'm shooting for being there about 8:30 so we can all go over together, but if it starts to look like to keep the MINIs together you need to head over before I get there, go ahead and just save room for two more MINIs .. thanks!!!

BTW for those sitting on the fence, it's supposed to be almost 70* tomorrow so it should be a nice morning. There's usually a really good showing of cars on nice days -- especially nice days that the car clubs don't have many alternatives!
