Great time today too guys and gals and all the new friends we met and great to see Terry and Joan from GA hanging with us especially! WOW! What a diverse crowd we had today! Thanks To all our fearless leader and patient Sweeper that made it possible for a safe motoring day! Life is GOOD! Heres some pics I put together. I have some video too I may post also there same spot eventually.... Tired.....stepping off box and going to BED! WHEW!
WINGS THANKS EVERYONE FOR MAKING IT HAPPEN TODAY!
We saw everything from fabulous sunshine, to dense fog, to sleet and 31 degrees, and then back motoring home with the setting sun making shadow puppets of WINGS! Lots of fun with all who came, to those who missed it, you missed a good one! Food, Friends, Motoring, Isn't that what it's all about anyhow? YEAH! ;0) Nice to finally meet a few of you who we have met through the sites!

More pics---I wish I had taken a fog pic, but I was just happy to survive dense fog on the mountain. If deer had walked out om me, I would still be on top of that mountain cleaning out my pants.

Had a great time today, Thanks everyone. Cant wait til next time. I will post some pictures tomorrow.
Hunter,
Thanks again for leading the run. The last part in little switzerland was was intense and was the best part of the day! It was worth sticking around for, even though I didn't get home until 9:00..
Craig (Laser Blue S w/white stripe).
I went back down that way, after you guys left.

Hunter, awesome drive especially the last 2 segments. Worth it just for that. Thanks to Dave and Karen for coming back to get us. It was great meeting all the new people and seeing the usual group too.
Enjoyed meeting everyone. Wish we could have spent more time with the group, but dinner expectations with friends in Atlanta cut it close, very close! We barely made Atlanta by 18:30.
We ran old-221 alongside the BRP, included the short section of 226A around Little Switzerland and jumped off the BRP at NC-80 to run what's now called The Devil's Staircase south to I-40. It was all boring slab from there to Atlanta. :(
Big Thank You to Hunter for organizing.
Had a great time .. worth the early alarm!
Sorry to those of you who had planned to head back east with me before that last loop who I abandoned, the more direct 226 cut-off came up a whole lot sooner than I expected .. but it sounds like the last part was the best part!
Funny that I checked the weather in Raleigh, Wilkesboro, and Boone before committing to making the drive, little did I think to check the weather in TN!! Should have known ..
Hunter you did a GREAT job for a first run .. and there was an exceptional number of MINIs which always poses a bit of a co-ordination challenge. It will only get easier, so keep up the good work!
For anyone who didn't get a chance to spend any extra time in Boone, 4 words: Stick Boy Bread Company .. oh my gosh, if there was one in Raleigh I would probably live there .. :-)
Last, but not least, for those of you who I mentioned the Brier Creek Cars & Coffee&Drive to Lunch to for next Saturday (2/4) I made the dry run this afternoon and while we don't have the twisty roads in this part of NC that the western part has, this should be scenic and fun, if not quite as spirited .. we finish up in Pittsboro for lunch so for any of you from the Triad or Charlotte areas where it's a haul to get to Triangle Cars&Coffee, your return trip post lunch will be shorter .. here's the link to the thread for more details (it's a monthly event, so scroll thru to current posts) .. hope to see you there!
