"First Saturday" meetings at Brier Creek will have to be relocated.
Starting next month, we will have to find another location for our traditional First Saturday get-togethers.
The management group at Brier Creek supports the PCA group’s regular, low-key Saturday morning coffee gathering and appreciates our support of Jason’s Deli and their other tenants over the years, and sincerely hope we continue to support them.
Brier Creek, however, is not as comfortable with what has happened with the first Saturday gatherings. It's important to note that there were no incidents, and that the Brier Creek organization is not upset at anyone. It's just that there are too many cars and attendees there to properly manage the event in the space available. They have concerns about the safety and security of the show cars, the people parking and attending the show, and the other patrons who are not there for the show. They are also concerned about liability should something happen.
They have requested that we not show up at Brier Creek on July 7th (only). Their security group will be there to "suggest" that the other car groups find another location. We will do what we can to notify other clubs with whom we have a relationship.
** NOTE ** This should not lead to a "bitch session" against Brier Creek. Yes, they know we are patrons of the businesses there. Yes, they appreciate our business. No, they do not want to alienate us. It's purely an issue with the number of people who are there to show their car and those who are there to look at the cars in the show. The space available simply isn't large enough to handle the success of what started out as an informal get-together.
