Hey all... on Day No. 4 with my first Mini. I am beginning to have flashbacks of my days with the BMW Motor Club and the great meet ups.

This event looks awesome. I think I am going to come! Pouring through the site now for details. I'm sure a bunch of us could motor over to the event together?

As of now, no plans to go but like last year might drive up early sat and stay at a B&B about an hour away as a weekend getaway trip..
I need to look at the schedule to see when the pinewood derby will take place this year..
Pinewood Derby is on Friday again this year so probably will miss that again..

a) The line up on the MOTD Patch flyer looks very impressive!
b) The MOTD Patch looks excellent!

I'm looking at the panorama from last year and where the line up stops on the patch flyer (the 2nd GP), there are another 35 or so MINI's in that first row alone & there were 4 rows.

Woo Hoo! Managed to get a cabin at Fontana! Now I just need to sort out a couple things on the classic and we'll be there. Intrested in an of the club drives that may happen as most of the official ones are full. Need to run the CHEROHALA SKYWAY this year as I have not done it. Anyone interested?

April 7th, 2011, 09:00 PM
That is also high on my list! We have to get together.

April 7th, 2011, 09:20 PM
Cherohala sounds good to me too. Got it mapped out along with the sunrise drive route and the Devil's Triangle.

April 7th, 2011, 09:27 PM

I am just gonna find your MINI and follow you everywhere. Do not be afraid of that random laser blue MINI you see everywhere. Haha.

April 7th, 2011, 10:08 PM
The red clubman will be right behind the laser blue MINI!

Sounds like a plan... lets figure a time to run that...I'm In

April 8th, 2011, 10:29 AM
Yep Ditto we be there early Friday coming in from Asheville in the am. Maybe mid am Friday 11:00 or so before all the "weekenders" get there.... :+)

Just joined Tarheel Minis -- got my Clubman last month and love it. Plan on going to MOTD and will join you guys for the end of the BRP event in June.

:dance:Time sounds good... we were going to do the Dragon Parade that morning but that should give us plenty of time for a late morning/mid-day start. My wife will be driving the Clubbie and I'll be in the Classic. Should be fun

April 12th, 2011, 02:15 PM
All very tentative as I'll mainly be looking for minimark and blimey and trying to keep them in sight. If a THMMC Cherohala run on Friday materializes, I'll probably be in for that. Means I'll have to juggle around a run to Devil's Triangle - either Thursday after I get there or Saturday after the panoramic photo.

I'm also planning to get up Saturday morning and do the sunrise drive around the Smokies. Except, since I didn't get in on the official run, I'm planning to run it in reverse (with breakfast at the Big Boy in Cherokee). If I do it, guess it will be a long day if I make it to Midnight on the Dragon.

April 12th, 2011, 02:24 PM
The Big Boy is gone Jeff :(

April 12th, 2011, 02:49 PM
Well dangnabbit!!!!

Devil's Triangle is fun, but it is crisscrossed by a lot of mining roads. Just saying can be very dirty, ran it once when we just disappeared in a cloud of rock dust.

I think it's a DQ now. Here's how it used to be http://dininginthesmokies.com/_cheroke/cdbigboy.jpg
