View Full Version : 9/22/12 - Bourbon Run V (MINICCI)

September 2nd, 2012, 01:30 PM
I am taking the liberty of cross posting these details from the HR MINI club website .. this THMMCer did this drive last year (a slightly abbreviated version) and it was an absolute blast and sooo worth the drive .. in fact the one criticism I had was that it needed to be an extra day to allow visits to additional distilleries! Don has done a great job of putting together a plan .. GO if you can!!

Details (check the Facebook page for more updated details - like the group hotels)

Thursday, September 20 - Drive to Frankfort, KY

Lodging at the Frankfort Hampton Inn

Friday, September 21, Morning agenda -

8:45am - Leave hotel and drive to Buffalo Trace Distillery

We’ll hit the following bourbon distilleries in this order:
• Buffalo Trace
• Woodford Reserve
• Wild Turkey
• Four Roses

Friday evening agenda
5pm Grab dinner in Frankfort, KY.
6:45pm - Head to Buffalo Trace Distilley
7:00pm - Ghost Tour of Buffalo Trace - this will be set this up in advance. Don just needs to know how many people are coming.

Saturday, September 22 agenda
9:00am Leave Hampton Inn to drive to Bardstown, KY. Map link below
10:00am Join the Mini Car Club of Indiana and BlueGrass Minis

We’ll hit the following distilleries as a large group:
• Oscar Getz Whiskey Museum
• Barton 1792 Distillery
• Maker’s Mark Distillery - Maybe my favorite of all. This place is beautiful.
• Limestone Branch Distillery

If we have time afterwards, we can head to Heaven Hill and/or Jim Beam to get our passports stamped. Otherwise, we can just head back to Hampton Inn.

Sunday we can meet the other group at Jim Beam in or we can just head home. Since we all have long drives, I’m guessing that the best bet.

See the HR MINI link for a link to the google maps of the routes to be taken and additional details:

Greg and Linda Graham and their daughter Amanda do a great job every year planning and putting on this event. All of us in the Mini Car Club of Indiana look forward to this event every year. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend this year. Last years trip had some of the best roads I've seen for awhile.
