    Buckshot Ridge
    Saturday morning 8:00 - 12:00
    3 stars
    20 cars

Here we go loop-de-loop. Patrick and Judith created this run just for MINIpalooza. It is full of fun as you ride the road that gangsters and moonshiners have taken in years past. Going through the winding mountains of North Carolina and into Tennessee. This adventure will start at the Ramada and follow I-26/NC 19 and turn up Possumtrot Creek and follow along the Cane River on NC19W. Change over to Spivey Mountain Road on the Tennessee side where more twisties are just waiting for us to explore. The last leg of Buckshot Ridge will take us onto NC352, which is called the Old Asheville Highway. We will pass one of the Appalachian Trail points and turn onto NC 212. There are still two more turns NC 208 and then NC 70 back into Asheville. Whewwwww. What fun.

    Waterfall Run
    Saturday morning 8:00 - 12:00
    2+ stars

John and Sherry are our fearless leaders on this wonderful scenic run with wonderful waterfalls along the way. Taking highway 64 to Canton and stopping at Eastatoe Falls for a photo shot with the group and then you will backtrack to US 64 heading towards Brevard and stop and enjoy Looking Glass Falls which is one of NC’s most picturesque waterfalls. Then everyone will head up to the parkway and scoot on back to Asheville. Great fun run.

Be sure and bring your walking sticks, water and camera because you not only enjoy the beautiful scenic drive but you get to hike a bit and enjoy the beautiful sunshine. This run will take you to DuPont State Forest in Cedar Mountain, NC where you will get to enjoy over 10,000 acres of forest, trails and waterfalls. It is situated between Hendersonville and Brevard. DuPont State Forest got its name from DuPont Company after they arranged the sale of the original tract to the state on NC. This is where the movie “Hunger Games’ was filmed.

    4B’s and CMJ Run
    Saturday morning 8:00 - 12:00
    2 stars
    20 cars

Alan and Bev will have just gotten back from MTTS 2014 and they both are excellent leaders – you are in good hands with them. They will give you a fun run as you circle around the area of WNC going from Asheville to Maggie Valley along Soco Gap into Cherokee around the loop to Balsam and then back on the Blue towards Asheville. We are sure that you will get to see many beautiful sights including the best scenic photo opportunity in all of WNC at the top of Balsam Mountain on Soco Gap Road (NC19). Be sure and bring your cameras.

    Hot Springs
    Saturday morning 8:00 - 12:00
    3 stars
    20 cars

Ben is a pro at this run. It is one of his favorites and enjoys it every time. This rally run travels through the countryside of WNC passing farms of Leicester, up and down some tight twisties in Hot Springs, and finishing with a relaxing drive alongside the French Broad River into Asheville. You will follow Highway 63 until it comes to a T at NC 209. Taking NC209 and this is when the twisties begin, so hold on tight. There will be a short break in the town of Hot Springs and yes they have hot springs year round – but no time to enjoy this time because there is another run around the corner.

    The Lake Lure Scenic Drive
    Saturday afternoon 1:00 - 3:00
    2 stars
    20 cars

Ben is going to go in the opposite direction with this run. This will wind through the rural parts of WNC leading the MINI owners to the historic Lake Lure. There have been many movies filmed in the area: Dirty Dancing, Thunder Road, My Fellow Americans, and the Last of the Mohicans. This run will follow US-74 through Fairview over the mountains and through the woods and into Lake Lure. On the return hold on to your hat as you encounter Highway 9. This will take you in the back woods and will dump you out in Black Mountain and then come on back home along US70. Lots of fun on an afternoon run.

    Little Switzerland Switchbacks
    Saturday afternoon 1:00 - 5:30
    2+ stars
    20 cars

    Theo to lead this group.
The Little Switzerland Run will take us up the Blue Ridge Parkway and onto Legendary Little Switzerland Loop that was recently completely resurfaced, also sometimes known as part of the Diamondback Loop. There will be two groups.
Group 1 Theo in the Checkmate
    Group 2 Ross in WINGS
We'll be going in opposite directions, once we reach the Switzerland loop, this should make for a fun time, we will try to meet somewhere in the middle, which is always a good time, and results in a lot of horn blowing and furious waving. (As furious as you can wave with both hands on the Whee, Whee, Wheeel that is!) :-P Especially since they're all our friends, and we all know you're supposed to "Wave Dammit!"

    Popcorn Sutton’s Run
    Saturday 1:00 – 5:30
    2+ stars
    20 cars
Nationally renowned moonshiner Marvin “Popcorn” Sutton was from Maggie Valley, NC. He spent the last 3 decades building a reputation as one of the South’s top makers of white lightening. He starred in various documentaries about the tradition and penned an autobiography, “Me and My Likker”. A raid on his property back in 2008 turned up guns, three 1,000 gallon stills, more that 800 gallons of moonshine and hundreds of gallons of sour mash and other ingredients. He keep some of the illegal brew in a shed and some in a junk school bus. On this run lead by the famous duo team Judith and Patrick you will get to run the same route that Popcorn ran. Going through the woods to avoid the law - enjoying the twisties along the way and getting to meet some of “Popcorn’s" relatives. You never know you might be the next outlaw making “White Lightening Likker”. A "sure winner" excursion to round out your day.

    Smoky Mountain Waters
    Saturday afternoon 1:00 - 5:30
    2+ stars
    20 cars

Bill and Marylou Hightower will take you to the town on Highlands which is a mountain respite for over a century and has an elevation of over 4,000 feet. Highlands is one of the highest towns east of the Mississippi River. This run explore beautiful scenery and will include the Bridal Veil Falls where you can drive under the waterfall and get a MINI car wash. Everyone will travel down to Tuckasegee, NC and into Balsam Grove. Returning back to Asheville via the BRP. This run will cover over 171 miles of fun winding mountain roads. Enjoy

    Morning Photo Opportunity
    Sunday morning 9:00 - 10:00

We have a wonderful location for a panoramic view of all of the MINIs and the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain in the background. We will convene at 9:00 and get into position to have our photograph taken so that we can remember the great time we had in WNC of North Carolina.

    Geyser Run
    Sunday morning 10:00 - 1:00

Theo is our fearless leader as he takes us on our last run for MINIpalooza. This is a great send off for everyone to start heading home. We will begin the run heading southeast towards Fairview and take a left onto Old Fort Road where we will stop and visit two organic farms. The first one is Hickory Nut Gap Farms. This farm keeps Asheville in organic meats, berries, orchard products, and bees. We will take a 1 hour walking tour of the farm with ample time for questions. Their retail store is open on Sunday for us to shop as well. The second stop will be Round Mountain Creamery which is the first one and is the only combined Dairy Goat Farm and Grade A Goat Milk Processing Plant in the state of NC. Their pampered Alpine and LaMancha goat herd provide excellent milk for their unbelievable cheese that they make here. After this stop we will head back onto Highway 9 and take in some great twisties and end up in the quaint village of Old Fort, NC. Old Fort is home to Point Lookout Trail, Andrews Geyser and a famous arrowhead in the center of town. This will take us back to I-40 and you can choose to go towards home or come back to Asheville for some more fun.
