2005 Mini Cooper S 6-speed - limited slip differential, engine HP upgrades - $5000

2005 Mini Cooper S, 6-speed manual, silver with black stripe and black leather interior. Supercharged 1.6l, 154k miles, very well maintained, in very good condition with only a few minor flaws (see below). Clean carfax, clear title in my name, no accidents or paint work.. 2005 is really the best year for an “S” since it had all the upgrades and avoids the reliability issues that came with the later turbocharged cars.

Runs great and is an absolute blast to drive - it’s very fast! Modest engine modifications have increased engine power from stock 168HP to over 200 HP. Everything works as it should -- AC, heat, power windows, power locks, etc. Shifts smooth and handles great. I recently rebuilt the front end with all new balljoints, tierods, motor mounts, and Mini Madness front control arm bushings, drives like (or better than) new.

The factory optional LSD (Limited Slip Differential) was a rare option on these cars, and really helps with traction in tight corners. With no sunroof (lighter weight!) this would make an excellent track or autocross car. Also includes the factory Chrono package which puts the speedo in front of the driver and adds gauges for oil temp and oil pressure to the center gauge cluster.

Recent maintenance
- Replaced headliner
- New motor mounts
- Driver’s side axle
- Front balljoints
- Inner and outer tierods
- Brand new shift knob
- ABS sensors replaced
- Sachs sport clutch (~30k miles ago)
- Brakes are good, have about 30k miles on them

- Tires are worn and near the wear bars, need to be replaced soon
- Since replacing the left axle, there is a really minor vibration during acceleration in 2nd gear
- Couple of minor dents in the roof, many have been fixed but a few are noticeable
- Paint is very good but there are the usual chips and flaws here and there (touched up)
- Front left corner plastic trim has a 2” crease in it, probably from a parking incident (see pics)
- Some oil wetness on the bottom of the engine - not sure where it’s leaking from, but it does NOT drip on the ground so I’ve never worried about it
- Mini used cheap plastic on a lot of interior parts which scuffs and scratches easily, so there’s some wear in the trunk and on the seatbacks.
- The strut tower brace black finish is corroded in places.
- Battery is getting old, and will lose charge if the car’s not driven for a week or more
